Connie hadn't slept in the days of travel from the Mexican Border to El Paso, the image of his country men being slaves in this day and age made him grit his teeth. Connie wasn't a particularly violent man, when he had to fight he would do so knowing he was in the right, but retribution and justice were two separate things, what he considered justice wasn't what the Law would understand.
all things considered however, he would need men in the coming days he couldn't face losing his sons but with added arms and able bodies he may make their engagements safer, Connie knew of two men from his army days back in New York, who would perhaps help for a time.
Daragh O'Reilly and Micky Sheeky were two Irish men that Connie met in the Irish Brigade, good lads, Daragh would be fifty six and Micky would be forty eight, they knew how to fight, Daragh would probably have kids knowing his propensity for the fairer sex, Micky however wasn't the sort to even look at a woman.
Connie never had to use the telegraph before, he always used letters, but luckily a very kind man behind the desk promised to relay his message for the old man.
It read as follows:
Dear Daragh\ Michael
How have you been old friends?
I'm in a bit of a spot, I've found out about our country men being taken as slaves, i Know it may sound odd to you both but i too am puzzled at such an act in today'sage, but in mexico anything can and does happen. Mexico is a depraved place, did you know that in a town in the country one can see a woman engaging in an erotic inflagrante with a mule, i've never heard of the like until i saw it myself, i cant look at the poor creatures in the same light now.
i Implore you to visit, ill pay for the travel and accommodations, i cannot stand and let this evil act continue send word of your arrival or denial either way i will bring that slaver to justice, we as a people will no longer be stamped upon.
