A family of four, two parents and two young children, in an attempt to find a speedier way North from El Paso decided to head through the Tularosa Basin. Not only is the Basin a desert deathtrap, it is also known for significant levels of Apache activity.
A saloon owner alerted the authorities that the family were planning this route, and a reward for their safe return was immediately offered. Beware though, the dangers could be insurmountable.
