Your posse is your most important resource in the West. A posse member has a base skill level of 1 for each of the six skill sets. You can hire posse members proactively, or you can sometimes receive them following the completion of a mission. To hire a posse member, visit a saloon and be willing to part with a one off payment of $100, additionally they will expect a share of the loot/rewards as you progress.
There are six different types of posse member, each with their own bonuses.
Boxer: +2 close combat
Gunfighter: +2 gunslinging
Sharpshooter: +2 Marksmanship
Miner: +2 Explosive Skill
Horse Whisperer: +2 horsemanship
Athlete: +2 stealth
You can increase their ratings by buying them better weapons, much like you would your own character.
Each player can start with two posse members if they wish. Write them into your character profiles or otherwise let the admin know if you wish to do so. There is an upper limit of 20 posse members, though you can often team up with NPCs, and indeed other players, in your endeavors.
