Every character and posse member starts off with a set of basic weapons, allowing them to participate in combat from the get go. However, it is important to purchase better weapons and equipment to give yourself an edge over your opponents.

You can buy new weapons when in a town with a gun store, receive them for completing missions or stealing them from gun stores or other players.
