Noone in the town seems to know anything about the disappearances. After some pressing, one woman claims to have seen one of the 'departed' leaving the town and heading North, with a view of passing the desert via the Tres Hermanos Peaks.

Full of rage JC walks around the town with a gun in his hand threatening to arrest people for wasting of police time, if someone doesn't explain what has happened

The townsfolk barricaded themselves in their houses. A lone gentlemen strode out to talk to Corbyn. 'Now, howdy Sheriff. Why don't we put the gun down, someone will only get hurt. My name is Pastor Phillips. I can assure you none of us know anything about your travels by the Three Brothers.'

"Pastor Phillips, I want answers and I want the reward of $500 in my hands now."

'Are you trying to steal from me good sir? Now I don't think that to be very wise for a man of your standing. We don't have answers for you, nor money, so you can leave, or you can kill me.'

JC returns to Miracle and decides to enact investigations into the disapperances, searching the town for clues; searching homes with owners with a warrant provided by the US Marshall service.

The homes are clean, but there is a shift in attitude. The usually pleasant and friendly townfolk take great exception to JC's snooping. Despite this, their homes are clear, but an unsually sturdy barn with a hefty lock is caught in the corner of Corbyn's eye. The townfolk notice this, and quickly return to their homes.

JC tries to blow the lock open with gun shots at the door, failing that he will send the crew to push it until it opens

A few shots at the padlock and it falls open. A few hard kicks to the door break the final locks. JC was not quite prepared to see what he found inside. He had known the townsfolk had lived in the Northern Badlands, in the middle of the Indian Nation, for years. What he didn't know, was how they managed such a feat.
The sides of the shed were painted with blood. Knives and other carving equipment were strewn around what seemed otherwise a fairly sterile environment. More alarmingly, skinned human carcasses were hanging from meat hooks to the side.
JC stumbled back out the door, turning round to see the townfolk surrounding the shed. Armed with pitchforks, knives and a few guns, they were not prepared to let a stranger leave with their secret.

Despite the underwhelming arms of the townsfolk, they had Corbyn's men surrounded and outnumbered. They were too close for a test of marksmanship to come into play, so it quickly deteriorted into a gunslinging match. In which Callaghan and Purnell were killed, alongside six of the townsfolk. Corbyn managed to kill the Pastor before he had a chance to do damage himself, though there wasn't much time as the people of Miracle began to descend upon the crew in a melee frenzy. Ramsay, Davey Boy, Blunko and Jah were killed in the melee. Through it all Corbyn slew many and emerged as the only man standing after a brutal and bloody fight.
He gathered his boys' weapons and got the hell out of town.
